2 fire alarms for a restaurant in Northwest Calgary that was destroyed
Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire Monday night at a restaurant in northwest Calgary.
Fire crews were called to Fusion Sushi shortly after 10 p.m. After witnesses reported seeing smoke and flames from the roof of the building.
As the first trucks arrived, a second alarm was sounded as the situation worsened.
"While searching the scene, crews began attacking the fire from inside and outside the building," officials said in a news release.
"Ladder trucks were used to gain safe access to the roof, where firefighting efforts were concentrated and the fire brought under control."
No one was in the building at the time and no injuries were reported, officials said.
Calgary police have considered the fire suspicious.
Crews remained on the scene overnight and the cause is still under investigation, but officials say the fire started on the roof of the building.
