Salmonella outbreak ends in Canada
A months-long salmonella outbreak that sickened 90 people in four Canadian provinces is now over.
Provincial statistics:
Alberta: 69 cases
Ontario: 19 cases
British Columbia and Manitoba: 1 case each
Of the total cases, 10 people were hospitalized, and fortunately, no deaths have been reported.
Cause of the outbreak: Consumption of contaminated salami in sandwiches prepared or purchased from delis.
The recalled brands include Bona, Rea, Longos, Naturissimo, and several others.
Recommendations:
Avoid consuming the recalled products and have them inspected.
Throw away any suspicious sandwiches or contact the retailer.
If you develop symptoms of salmonella, seek medical attention immediately.
Take your own health and that of others seriously.
