Flair Airlines departs Ottawa Airport
Flair Airlines has pulled out of Ottawa International Airport, citing "insufficient demand to offset high airport costs."
Ottawa no longer appears as a destination on the Flair website. The Canadian capital was not listed in Flair Airlines' summer 2024 schedule released in November 2023, nor was it in the fall/winter 2024/spring 2025 schedule announced in August.
"We announced our intention to pull out of Ottawa several months ago due to insufficient demand to offset high airport costs," a spokesperson for Flair Airlines told CTV News Ottawa in a statement.
"We hope to reconnect with the airport authorities under its new CEO."
Flair Airlines will begin operations in Ottawa in 2021. The airline previously operated flights from Ottawa to several destinations, including Halifax, Las Vegas, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Cancun.
Porter Airlines, Air Canada, Air France, WestJet, United Airlines, Canadian North, Sunwing and Air Transat operate flights from Ottawa International Airport.
