40 mm of rain in Toronto
A weather event is expected to occur in southern Ontario during which more than 40 mm of rain will fall in Toronto. This low pressure weather event will reach southern Ontario by Thursday morning and bring heavy rains to the province by Friday.
In most parts of southern Ontario, 30-50 mm of rain is expected, while 50-75 mm of rain can be expected in northeastern Ontario such as Timmins, Sudbury and Saint Mary.
For Toronto, rain is expected to begin around 4 a.m. Thursday and continue throughout the day. The rain will become heavier until around 8pm and 3mm/hr is expected by midnight.
The rain will taper off by 2am on Friday and temperatures are expected to drop slightly to around 8C on Friday morning with a high of 9C for the day. There is also a possibility of thunderstorms in some areas of the Toronto metropolitan area, which carries the risk of local flooding.
