Canadian police warn about Halloween treats

⚠️ Canadian Police Warn About Halloween Treats 🎃🍬

Police across Canada, including in British Columbia, are warning parents to be careful with their children’s Halloween treats. In recent days, there have been some concerning reports from cities — including opened and resealed packages of chips and even the drug morphine in one case in Ontario that police are investigating.

In Saskatchewan, a parent found a needle-like metal piece inside a chocolate bar, and in Surrey, a similar report was made of a metal staple inside a Reese’s Buttercup. The products were collected in the Clayton Heights and Greens on Gardiner areas.

Police are urging families to take any tears, holes, resealing or unusual changes to the packaging seriously. Even if the package doesn’t appear to be opened but looks unusual, it shouldn’t be consumed. Any irregularities in the cutting or gluing could be a sign of tampering.

👮‍♀️ If you see anything suspicious, parents should contact local police immediately.

🎃 Children's safety and comfort should be a priority — let Halloween be a night of joy, not worry.
