Theft of pistachios worth $70,000 in Waterloo Region
Police in Canada's Waterloo Region said the suspects stole a truck and trailer loaded with $70,000 worth of pistachios from a yard in Baden, west of Kitchener, around 9:30 p.m. Saturday. .
According to the police, the suspects used a cutting machine to break the lock of the truck and then fled the scene with a trailer full of pistachios.
Waterloo Regional Police are investigating the case and welcome any information that leads to the arrest of the suspects.
This robbery is the second of its kind in Waterloo Region in the past few months. Also in November last year, the suspects stole a transport truck full of walnuts from a store in the same area.
Waterloo Regional Police believe the two robberies may have been carried out by an organized gang.
