Vehicle catches fire on Kitchener highway
Police closed a section of Highway 8 south of Kitchener on Friday after a car caught fire.
Police posted on social media about the fire at 3:12 p.m. Friday.
The northbound lanes of Highway 8 were closed between Highway 401 and Sportsworld Drive for about an hour.
Videos taken by other drivers show a large dark vehicle engulfed in flames.
There is no word yet on whether anyone was injured.
This is the second car fire in Kitchener this week. A car caught fire on Fisher Hallman Road on Wednesday. All the people in the car got out of the car without any injuries.
