Two people died and two others were seriously injured in a crash on Highway 50 between the towns of Lachute and Mirabel, Que., on Saturday evening.

This incident happened around 18:30. Des Sources St., near km 267.

According to preliminary information from the Quebec police force, one of the two cars deviated from its path, which caused the collision.

A 37-year-old male driver, a 30-year-old female passenger and a child were present in one of the cars. All of them were seriously injured and taken to the hospital. The condition of the woman and child is good, but the driver did not survive.

The 74-year-old driver of the second car was seriously injured and died in the hospital. He was alone in the car.

Accident reconstruction officers were sent to the scene to better understand the circumstances of the accident.

Highway 50 between Highway 329 in Lachute, Co. and Highway 148 in Mirabel, Que. It was closed in both directions.
