Toronto, the safest city in Canada
Toronto has been ranked as Canada's safest city, according to new data compiled by Money.ca. The organization used data from the Canadian Crime Index to create its rankings and calculated a list of the top 10 cities in terms of the number of crimes per 100,000 people.
With a score of 286.9, Toronto had the lowest number of crimes and was found to have the least likelihood of arson and the least trespassing and theft. Quebec City (301) and Ottawa-Gatineau (391.8) were second and third, respectively. The city of Hamilton ranked 10th with a score of 420.6 in the number of crimes per 100,000 people.
