Move out of Tehran: India issues fresh advisory as Iran-Israel conflict escalates
India has issued a fresh alert, asking its citizens and people of Indian origin in Tehran to leave the city as soon as possible and move to safer areas, following the escalation of tensions between Iran and Israel.
In the alert, the Indian embassy in Tehran has asked those who are able to leave the city to do so without delay. It has also asked Indian citizens who have not yet registered to contact the embassy immediately and provide their contact details and location.
As the clashes continue, hundreds of people from both sides have reportedly been killed in the past five days. Iran has said that 224 people, mostly civilians, have lost their lives in the past few days, while Israel has reported 24 civilian deaths.
Following these incidents, India has also evacuated its citizens from Iran, with the first batch of 110 of them being flown to Armenia. India has informed Iran to take steps to ensure the safety of around 10,000 students stranded in the country.
