Free Wi-Fi on WestJet flights
Some WestJet passengers will soon be able to connect to the internet for free on their flights as the airline plans to offer its customers free in-flight Wi-Fi.
The Calgary-based company announced Wednesday a new partnership with Telus that will offer free high-speed Internet to WestJet Rewards members.
In-flight internet, powered by Starlink, will be available from December.
The company announced that it is the largest Boeing 737 carrier in North America and the first commercial airline to offer in-flight Starlink connectivity.
WestJet's move puts it in line with Toronto-based Porter Airlines, which offers free in-flight Wi-Fi.
