EcoATM launches in Canada in partnership with Walmart
EcoATM, a leading electronics recycling company, has officially launched in Canada in partnership with Walmart stores. The first phase will see 13 recycling kiosks open at select stores in the Greater Toronto Area, including Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville and Burlington. The kiosks will allow customers to drop off their old phones and receive cash in exchange.

In the United States, EcoATM has installed more than 6,500 kiosks and collected more than 50 million devices, diverting an estimated 25 million pounds of e-waste from landfills.

Using the kiosks is simple: users place their phone in the machine, the device is automatically scanned, and a suggested amount is announced. If approved, cash is paid immediately.
The initiative is an important step toward reducing e-waste and promoting a recycling culture in Canada.
