Early Morning Crash in East York; Car Hits Salvation Army Store

An accident in Toronto’s Thorncliffe Park neighborhood has residents worried this morning (Sunday, November 9, 2025).
A car crashed into the Salvation Army store at 60 Overlea Dr., causing significant damage to the building’s facade.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 2:30 a.m., according to Toronto Emergency Medical Services. The driver of the car — a man in his 30s — was taken to hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

Images released show the front of the store nearly completely destroyed.

Toronto police said the driver will face several charges under the Highway Traffic Act.
