OTTAWA — As the clock ticks toward a possible postal strike, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers announced that Canada Post will be presenting a new set of offers today.
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) said the union’s negotiating team will review the offers this afternoon.
The union is reviewing the offers to ensure they meet the demands of its 55,000 members, according to a news release from union president Jen Simpson.
The union had previously accused Canada Post of walking away from the table after suspending negotiations last week.
The new offers come just days after the union announced a strike that could begin as early as Friday.
Canada Post has warned that there will be delays in the delivery of letters and packages if the union resumes its strike. The strike was previously suspended over the New Year holidays after the federal government intervened.
