Annual increases in electricity rates are implemented in Quebec
The annual increase in household electricity rates, up to three percent, will be applied in Quebec from Monday.
According to Hydro Quebec, this annual list means that people's monthly electricity bills are $2.35 for a five-and-a-half-room home, $4.39 for a 111-square-meter house, $5.82 for a 158-square-meter house, and $7.17 for a house. . A house of 207 square meters would increase. In February 2023, the National Assembly passed Bill 2, which limited the rating cap for domestic hydro Quebec production rates to three percent.
The rate for work has increased by 5.1 percent.
The utility said the increase is in line with the change in Quebec's consumer price index between Sept. 30, 2022 and Sept. 30, 2023.
The adjustment will apply to all business rates except the high-powered industrial rate, which will increase by 3.3 percent.
