Air India passengers get a lift from RCAF after bomb scare forces landing in Nunavut
An Air India flight flying from Delhi to Chicago was diverted to Iqaluit International Airport in Nunavut due to a bomb threat. More than 200 passengers of this flight reached their final destination in Chicago with the help of the Royal Canadian Air Force.
Air India Flight 127 was flying from Delhi to Chicago when it was diverted to Iqaluit International Airport in Nunavut due to a bomb threat. The airport was not equipped to handle such a large number of passengers, so the Canadian government authorized the Air Force to assist the passengers.
The bomb threat that caused the flight to be diverted, according to Air India, is one of several that the airline and other airlines have faced recently. However, these threats have been found to be false after investigation.
Air India thanked Canadian authorities and Iqaluit International Airport for their support and assistance.
