A family in Quebec won $50 million
A family of eight in Quebec won $50 million just before Christmas. The prize was awarded to them in the Lottomax draw, one of the most popular lotteries in Quebec.
The winners of this award are the Mathieu family from the suburbs of Quebec City. Gregory Matthew, 22, is one of the family members who bought the winning ticket. He works in a supermarket and has said that he has always dreamed of winning the lottery one day.
Matthew said that when he checked the winning ticket, he did not believe that he had won at first. He later called his mother and told her about the incident. His mother didn't believe him at first either, but when Gregory's colleague told her that the story was true, she was also shocked.
The $50 million prize will be divided among eight members of Matthew's family. They have said that they plan to use this money to buy a house, car and help their family and friends.
The prize is the largest lottery prize in Quebec history. Previously, the largest lottery prize in Quebec was $45 million.
